My students are amazing and eager learners! The majority of my students are from low-income families, many speaking languages other than English and some living in difficult situations. Despite these obstacles, they come to school every day with smiles on their faces, ready to learn.
My students come to school wondering what we are going to learn about today!
They enter the room looking around to see what new activities are ready for them to work on. I try to make my classroom a place the students are eager to come to every school day!
My Project
This project is for classroom books to be used in learning about our bodies and our five senses. The students enjoy learning the parts of our bodies and participating in all the hands-on activities we do as we explore our five senses. Currently, my materials are limited on this subject, so these additional books will be a great resource for student learning.
The list of books in this project was compiled from the Massachusetts Department of Education for Early Childhood website as recommendations for use in teaching preschool children about our five senses.
Requested books series and titles include Let's Read About Our Bodies, Five Senses, I Spy With My Little Eye, Arthur's Eyes, The Random House Book of Poetry, and I Spy. This unit is always a favorite each year in my classroom.
