This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
All young children like to work with their hands. Puzzles would definitely
be a great tool to stimulate all my kindergarten students. Puzzles are also a useful tool for developing the minds of young learners.
My 29 kindergartens are no different from any other kindergartens.
Most of my students are extremely full of life and eager to learn of my students are English Language Learners in an area with a 95% high poverty rate. Now that we are in the middle of the school year I have seen an extremely amount of growth. Which is through their eagerness to learn.
My students have a special fondness for puzzles. I would have no doubt my students will be excited about having these puzzles. The puzzles would be a benefit academically from access to these puzzles. Putting together the pieces helps young children to develop their critical thinking abilities. Also, the puzzle pieces would help to refine their motor skills, which would certainly aid them with their handwriting in crucial year for that skill. Plus puzzles are a fun way to learn.
My Project
Kindergarten classrooms generally have what are called learning centers. These centers look like play areas for students. Children often learn more from activities if they are more aware while doing it, and having fun is effective way to raise their awareness. These puzzles would be a fun and effective addition to our classroom's learning center.
Puzzles will help my students to learn in a fun way.
Puzzles are also a way for students to work together and us their critical thinking skills. As I often observe my students watching their excitement as they fit the puzzle pieces together and complete their puzzle. Puzzles definitely help to engage students to enhance their higher order thinking and organizational skills.
As well all fine motor skills for kindergarten which they need for growth to move on to the next level.
