This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This is a bright and active group of five- and six-year-old children. They love to create and tell stories. They love to read and be read to. They are quickly learning to work together which is a vital skill in our world. My children work in small groups and independently throughout the day.
We grow in all areas by practicing and playing together.
Writing throughout the day in science, social studies, math, and even in art helps us in so many ways. We get noisy, but we learn so much together. We need supplies to grow as readers, writers, and illustrators. We need to show the colors of our ideas. There is so much to learn.
My Project
We are in need of this aquarium and materials to support its inclusion in our classroom. Kindergarten students will get the chance to write about their observations and illustrate same when we keep writing supplies with the acqarium.
Fish are exciting and calming.
The inclusion of this aquarium (with its accessories) will spark writing and conversations. It will reinforce vocabulary growth. Kindergarten students will get to be scientists by recording their observations and comparing notes. The shelf included in this project will let us keep observation materials, science journals and writing supplies all together.
Fish are going to be our first explorations into the scientific world.
