My students are a community of fifth-grade scholars. They are inquisitive, creative, and hard-working. My classroom is a student-centered environment. Students are encouraged to express the topics and ideas that intrigue them. We develop lessons that investigate these areas of interest and inquiry.
As a first year teacher, my goal is to inspire my students with a voracious love for reading, math, and science.
This project will help to establish engaging centers where they can explore literacy, math, problem-solving and spatial-relation skills while also developing applied science capabilities.
My Project
I am a first-year teacher in a fifth-grade classroom. I want to establish two Osmo centers with iPads and a genius kit as well as a Hot Wheels racing kit. The genius kit includes tangrams, math games, and word work exercises. The Hot Wheels kit includes problem-solving and spatial-relation exercises.
These Osmo centers, which will be used daily in my classroom, provide engaging and interactive activities that students will be excited to use.
Both the iPads and the Osmo kits can be built on with additional accessories. This will allow me to keep the centers updated and appealing to my students throughout the school year.
