I work at a small, rural grade school in Gifford, Illinois where my students range from first to fifth grade. Each and every student is special in my class and deserves a powerful educational environment!
All of the students in my class come from low-income households.
I want to provide them with a classroom that they feel safe and loved. Many of my students enjoy school and I hope to continue their opinion in this as they continue throughout their education journey.
My Project
As a first year teacher, I need new supplies to create an engaging classroom. Our current bookshelf is an old TV stand and our books fall every day. My students and I would love to have an enclosed bookshelf for organization of our books.
Another item we have asked for is a Cricut cutting machine.
In order to make our classroom engaging, I would love to post bulletin boards and posters around the classroom to aide in the curriculum they are learning.
Since I do not have many materials yet this far in my teaching journey, I have also asked for smaller items such as whiteboards and markers to help engage the students during activities.
