Being a first year teacher, it has been difficult to fund everything that my students need to be successful as well as comfortable in my new classroom. For my demographic of students, they do not adjust well with schedule changes and being flexible is not their strongest skill. With this knowledge, I have tried to adapt what their veteran classroom teacher have previously done to make the transition for them more smooth, but that comes along with unforeseen costs and budget issues. I would love to best show of my teaching skills as best as possible along with creating a safe and comfortable learning environment that still supports learning and metacognition.
My Project
The wooden letters will help the students who need a manipulative to comprehend letter formation as well as a more enjoyable activity for struggling readers.
The Big Joe Chairs will be used to create a comfortable and more inclusive learning environment.
The fidget toys are highly requested from my students to help them focus as well as help them during frustrating times during the school day.
The lights will be used for alternative lighting to create a more mellow and inviting classroom where my students feel comfortable and invited into my classroom.
