They are growing and learning in the same small, tight knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers. They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career. They are all young, inquisitive boys who will soon be young impactful men that will take over the world.
The materials I have chosen are crucial in any classroom. With these tools, students will be able to participate in whole group, small group, and individual instruction.
By donating to my project, you will ultimately help to increase my students' academic achievement.
Individual whiteboards are an important aspect of any school day. They are used in math for sharing answers during a whole group lesson. They are also used in reading to jot down thoughts while in a guided group. When it is time for students to grab their whiteboards, a bit of fun is added to the lesson, as they tend to love the break from pencils. The Hundred's Chart help build their fluency with counting numbers as well as addition and subtraction.
Unifix cubes, markers, crayons, and pencils are just a couple of items that are helpful for young learners to grow as students. All of the items can and will be used across the curriculum and day, and will be taken care of and loved by second graders for years to come!
