My students need a MOTO G phone for their FTC control and communication system and a spare battery for the robot to get started this season.
This project expired on January 8, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I coach three competitive robotics and host a non-competitive robotics club in a middle school setting.
My students are super-curious, creative, motivated, and enthusiastic learners who are developing all kinds of problem-solving and life skills as they learn about engineering and programming.
Participation in our robotics program has more than doubled this year, thanks to the introduction of robotics programs at the elementary level. 6th graders arrived this year with experience programming and building robots, ready to jump into the competition season. We are running two FLL teams and one FTC team this year!
To keep the robotics program open to all kids, there are no for fees to participate. Our school attendance area is very socio-economically diverse and participation fees that would adequately support the program would make it cost-prohibitive for many students.
I truly appreciate whatever you can donate to propel our educational robotics program forward.
Our FIRST Tech Challenge team need a few supplies so they can get started building their robot. This is our first funding request using Donors Choose. We are requesting a MOTO G phone for my students' FTC control and communication system, and we need a spare rechargeable battery for the robot to get started this season.
The mechanisms on the robot use a lot of power; we learned last year that having a backup battery is critical for tournaments.
We need an additional phone for the remote control and communication system that drives the robot. We have software that students use to program the robot, then the program is flashed to the phone. This phone is solely for the purpose of the robot control system.
These are our most immediate needs to start the season. Thank you for your contribution!
