My Students

Our creative, fun loving students come from an small rural community in southern New Hampshire. Our district has one 5th- 8th grade school which allows for mentorship, inclusion, and support across the school community. In the last 4 years we have seen the engagement in the FRST Lego League increase, including an all girls team every year. Our club members come from all different social and economic groups within the community. Students are so excited about discovering their new talents they forget time and social pressure often found in a middle school setting.

My Project

I will grow professionally through engagement in construction and programming in a new robotic platform. I will take this knowledge and use it to expose students to various software and engineering concepts. This will help students develop 21st century STEM skills.

Learning the new SPIKE platform will prepare me for this year and future competitions, so I can better support my student's learning.

The kits will allow for me to develop curriculum for remote learning along with in the classroom STEM experiences. The new kits will help students explore their creative side, while developing problem solving skills.
