Hello! I am a first grade teacher in the Sound-view section of the Bronx. Our classroom is vibrant, fun and full of 25 energetic six year olds that are eager to learn. The only thing that our classroom lacks is computers. With a computer in the classroom, the possibilities are endless - students can type their published writing, conduct web quests on the Internet(in first grade!), play interactive math and phonics games and most importantly they'll become familiar with computers which will better prepare them for their academic careers. Most of the students that I teach come from low income housing establishments and do not have computers in their homes. By helping to bring technology into my classroom, you'll be empowering 25 phenomenal first graders for the rest of their lives! They'll thank you for it!
