My students are creative, enthusiastic and love learning. They like to have hands on learning opportunities, which helps them fully engage in their learning.
My students love to read!
They enjoy looking at new and exciting books that are put out in the classroom. Think of the excitement when they see new categories of books in from of them!
Books are so important to my first grade students and allowing them the opportunity to choose different genres from clearly labeled storage bins gives them an opportunity to be in charge of their own learning.
My Project
Inside my classroom, I want my students to be able to have choice and the ability choose from many different types and genres of books. I also want my students to have access to tools and games to work on during my literacy instructional block. In order for my students to have a variety of what they can choose from, my classroom will need to have different storage bins (book bins) to hold all the different types of books and it will need to have a variety of word work tools and games.
By donating to our project, you are helping my classroom find an organized spot to sort and group boxes based on student interest and different book genres.
By donating, you are also helping my students gain more resources to use during literacy instruction.
Students will be able to neatly choose books from the new storage bins and read! They will be able to have more variety while they are working on their word work station and sight words games.
