My Students

Do you remember the first time you said "I Can Read?" Well I can't wait to hear those words come out of the mouths of my fabulous first graders. First grade is an amazing year. It is a year that you see the children blossom into wonderful readers. It is a year that they develop a love for reading. I want my first graders to pick up a book without being told. I want them to have books that they can read and feel successful. I want them to say "I can read" from the moment they enter the room.

My Project

Learning sight words is a critical component of early literacy. These colorful and kid friendly sight word books will allow my children to practice these words and develop a love for reading. They will have a chance to read by themselves, with a friend or with a group at our literacy stations. Then they can store them in the great bags. They will want to pick them up again and again. Please help our classroom library by purchasing books and bags for them. You are helping the children develop a love for reading and you are helping them say I CAN READ!
