My Students

I teach first grade at an International Baccalaureate (I.B.)School in San Diego, California.

My students are a bunch of little sponges; they soak everything in.

They show enthusiasm in all that they do. Every year, I learn something new from my kids!

I consider myself a lifelong learner. A big part of my job is to instill lifelong learning into my students. I love my job and I consider it a privilege to touch the future every day as a teacher.

Last year and this year I have been going to many STEAM trainings. I am learning that I need to teach coding so that the students can be better prepared for the future. They need to become coders! Yes coders!!

My Project

Teaching these days is not just about reading, writing and math. It has become preparing students for the world we live in through STEAM.

It's about how students lives will be in decades to come and how it's an educators responsibility to prepare students for their futures.

It's become crystal clear that teaching how to be a critical thinker and problem solver is the way into their future lives.

This product is going to help students in a "playful" manner through discovery, trail and error. Introducing students to coding without screen time and having them maneuver objects will enable them to become CODERS!
