Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every day my students walk into our classroom full of excitement. They are ready to fill their little minds with lots of big knowledge. My first graders are full of questions and curiosities.
These amazing little people make every single day an adventure.
We spend our days reading, writing, singing, learning all sorts of ways to do math and about the world around us. They come from a variety of backgrounds and have their distinct personalities, and together we make a dynamic classroom community.
My Project
Technology is becoming more and more present in the classroom. The expectations for computer literacy are high. Starting in third grade our students begin their state testing online. The need to manipulate a computer successfully is high. Their achievement should not be hindered by lack of exposure to computers and laptops.
These tools will prepare my students for the technology based world we live in.
Some of my students do not have computers at home. They are only familiar with handheld devices like smartphones and tablets. With the USB Optical Mouse and headphones, I will teach them how to manipulate laptops, successfully use a mouse, become familiar with the keyboard, and build their confidence in computer literacy.
