When one of my students described how she was feeling recently, she used the word "powerful!" They amaze me with the enthusiasm they have toward each other and learning. They are discovering their passions and become more independent every day. I am so proud of the progress they have made this year! My classroom is filled with sixteen of the most precious first graders!
As a first grade teacher, it is my job to create a community of learners that love to go to school.
My students know they are loved and value each other's friendships. I like to refer to my class as a "team" that works together and cheers each other on. I am blessed to be one of their biggest cheerleaders!
I intent to use to my document camera to model how to meet the objectives of my lessons. First graders are new to following directions on paper format. However, just two years later, we expect our third graders to take a state-wide assessment. I will use this document camera to properly demonstrate how to follow multi-step directions and provide text evidence to support our answers.
The science materials will enhance my students' inquiry through our first grade curriculum.
My students will identify different kinds of rocks and use the magnets to learn about forces. My students learn best with hands-on learning experiences!
