My students need 3 sets of lower case letter stamps 5 stamp pads, 7 sand trays for kinesthetic learning, 4 books on CD and a class set of dice for phonics centers.
I am fortunate to teach in an amazing school with an wonderful and positive climate. Each day my students come in excited and ready to learn what the day's lessons have in store. As a first grade teacher, phonics is a critical aspect of teaching and vital to growth in my students' literacy.
I am currently teaching in a wonderful environment with a fantastic group of students that have a very wide variety of learning needs and styles.
In order to meet the diverse needs of the students in my classroom, phonics is taught through multiple learning styles. This includes auditory, visual and kinesthetic forms of teaching to meet the needs in the classroom.
My Project
I am requesting three sets of lower case letter stamps with five stamp pads; seven sand trays for kinesthetic learning; four books on CD; and a class set of dice for phonics centers. My students will use these learning materials for phonics instruction. Our class will often break into center forms of teaching. Materials such as letter stamps and sand trays will allow for students to experience the kinesthetic and visual sides of phonics instruction that are so necessary for their successes.
My class will be able to use sand trays to form new sounds and concepts taught each week. They will use the letter stamps in a variety of activities to aid them in word building, writing and spelling.
All of these materials will help with their overall success in literacy. Every little bit helps and is so greatly appreciated!
These materials will allow for students to be exposed to phonics and literacy outside of standard reading and writing activities.
These materials will aid in their full exposure to all learning styles and also create an engaging and fun way of learning for them.
