I have not had the chance to meet my wonderful students, YET! I get to meet them on August 30th and I am SO excited to greet them!
My sweet first graders will be so excited to see the supplies and decorations waiting when they arrive at our room!
I know they will be grateful for all of the materials that will allow us to have the best year possible.
My students attend a Title one, low-income school. There is a 65% low-income rate at our school.
My Project
The requested materials cover a wide variety because I am a first-year teacher!
My school is being torn down to be rebuilt bigger and better, for the first two years of my career, I will be teaching in a modular building hosted at another elementary school.
These modular buildings are brand new and therefore, I am starting and building my classroom from scratch!
By donating to our project, you will be supplying our first graders with books for read aloud. You will be supplying whiteboards and clipboards to allow students to work with flexible seating and easily complete their work. I will be able to use these whiteboards to easily and quickly assess student thinking and decide if students need further teaching on a topic. Pocket charts and other decorative items will be used as Word Walls, to display unusual sight and high-frequency words. Having the ability to create a Word Wall will allow our students to become more familiar with sight and high-frequency words, which helps them become fluent readers.
