First Grade Mathematicians and Science Explorers in Search of Supplies!
My students need basic supplies for everyday learning projects in our first grade Math and Science Classroom. We are requesting pencils, dry erase markers, easel and notepads to explore math concepts and write scientific observations.
The students at our school come from all walks of life and culture. More than three-quarters of our students come from low income households. We are considered a Title I school where the majority of students qualify for free/reduced lunches.
I am the teacher to 22 first grade students in a very high poverty, rural community Title I public school.
Despite what goes on at home, these children are genuinely excited about learning and love being at school with their peers. They are full of humor and curiosity, and I could not be more proud to teach at the school I am at.
Teachers at our school are some of the best with the biggest hearts and have nothing but compassion and care for our young leaders. We give our all to these students who quickly become more like family. Thanks to these teachers, our students get the best that we can give them. Thanks to DonorsChoose, our community can have an even bigger impact on the education of our future leaders!
My Project
I am requesting supplies that will make a huge difference in our everyday learning. By funding the pencils, dry erase markers, paper, and marker boards, we can use the materials to write down observations and practice conceptual math learning. Using the giant lined page, easel and sticky tabletop easel pads will help the students record large representations of their math and science thinking and learning to create anchor charts. The pencil pouches will keep our supplies organized.
Most of our students come from low-income communities that do not always have the means to provide basic supplies for simple learning.
My students and I would be forever grateful for the need to be fulfilled by receiving the basic supplies needed for our everyday math and science learning and discoveries!
