My students need basic supplies to start the school year such as Crayola crayons, Crayola markers, Crayola colored pencils, erasers and water colors. Our parents struggle to provide these basic supplies for their children.
First Grade! First Grade! Yes ma'am! Yes ma'am! I am going into my 5th year of teaching 1st grade. I love it! In my opinion it's a pivotal grade in a students' academic career. My 1st grade students are always excited, enthusiastic, eager, and just ready to learn! Sometimes school is the most secure and safe setting that a student experiences each day. My goal is to make sure each day is a wonderful experience for each of my students.
My Project
The majority of our students come from low income families. Sometimes they are unable to provide the necessary supplies for their children at the beginning of the school year. My goal is for every child in my classroom to have supplies such as crayons, markers, erasers, and pencils he or she needs to feel successful throughout the school year. I do not want any child in my classroom to feel embarrassed because he or she does not have a new pack of crayons or markers. That is an awful feeling to experience as a child. I want my students to feel successful from day one.
