First Grade Class In Need Of Area Rug
My students need a circular area rug for gathering as a learning community in class.
Coming together as a group has many benefits. The children hear stories read aloud, share stories of their own, and play together. So much of our day is spent gathered together on the rug. Our problem is that the rug we have now is old and dirty. The color has faded to a muddy wash.
I teach 20 amazing first graders in an urban school.
Our school is very diverse, from racial diversity to family diversity. Our students come from varied economic backgrounds as well. Our school is an inclusive school. Every class has children with special needs. We teach a peaceful approach to life. We learn acceptance and we celebrate our differences.
This 9-foot round comfy, navy blue rug will be so welcomed in our classroom of learners. I especially like the round shape. It lends itself to encouraging a community of learners. We gather daily to form a circle and share about our lives. We also form a circle when we share reading of the same story and discuss our understanding. Best of all, the rugs color hides stains and dirt. This rug will last for years and years.
With your help, our lovely class can rid itself of a dirty, old, and stained rug and welcome a new, round carpet to gather together on.
Give as little or as much as you're able to give to our project which will be enjoyed for years to come.
