My Students

Book clubs are not only for older kids, but also for first-graders! First-graders love to share and discuss!

In my school we have a large population of high functioning students.

In order to challenge students, to meet their potential I incorporate higher level thinking lessons. Sometimes it's hard to find resources to enrich students' learning and challenge them at the same time.

My Project

Recently, I have developed a first-grade book club. The students are enjoying reading the book and are eager to share their thoughts and wonders, during the book club sessions. The are critically reading the book and connecting text to the real world and other text.

I purchased a set of 10 books for my first book club meeting, and I would like to continue having book clubs for these young learners.

We are in need of book sets. Please help us continue our discussions and develop a love for reading!
