Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are new to me. Their teacher quit in November, and I am starting fresh with these students.

My students need a steady teacher presence in their day, and that's me.

Their teacher did not tell them that she was leaving, so they are shocked and still not adjusted.

The last teacher left us with no supplies, and in total chaos. We're trying our best to make a productive classroom out of what we have, but it takes more than we have.

My Project

Our classroom has no supplies. Nothing. No paper. No pencils. No markers.

We need the very basics to get back on track.

Copy paper is one of the most important things in elementary grades, and pencils and markers come in at a close second. Not having enough materials is hurting our ability to learn and be productive in our classroom.

When the last teacher left, she left us with nothing. She quit out of the blue, and starting in this classroom has been really difficult. We're doing the best we can to muddle through, and we need all the help and support we can get.
