Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As summer vacation is just days away, I'm already getting the classroom ready for my new class of first graders! I'm so excited to meet twenty-five new students who have a passion for learning. I'm hoping that my classroom is prepared to meet their needs when they return to school!
My students are extremely loving and bright girls who enter school with smiles because they truly enjoy learning!
I teach in a high needs area in New York City where most of my students receive free or reduced price lunch.
Unfortunately, we do not always have all of the necessary materials or resources to meet their needs. With your generosity, my students and I will have the supplies that we need to make the classroom a fun and positive atmosphere where they can grow as learners and continue to love school.
My Project
I have requested a new clean rug for the library, a laminator, color printer, and an organization system to help us start off the new school year right. By providing my students with a clean and organized work place, they will be able to focus on what matters - growing academically and socially.
I know that these resources will automatically provide a positive atmosphere for my twenty-five girls, and they will enjoy walking into the classroom every day. The materials that I selected will allow me to make sure that our classroom has most of the things that we need - especially a new rug for our library where they can dive into engaging books.
I envision a bright room where my students are able to independently find the materials that they need without worrying about where to locate anything. A laminator and color printer will help create a bright and beautiful classroom where everything is labeled for easy access.
