First Grade Artists
My students need liquid and solid cake tempera paint for a variety of art projects.
For me, teaching is not a job; it is a vocation. My first graders are on their way to being independent; yet, most of them still need/want support. They love learning and are always excited as they come in the door. Our school is set amid the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and serves students from PreK through 12th grade. We are an independent school system that prides itself in providing a quality education, while still getting to know each student and their family personally.
My students exhibit our Pirate Pride every day - Positive attitude, respect, instill trust and honesty, do your best, and exhibit responsibility.
Just because my students have left Kindergarten doesn't mean they don't love to paint! First graders still love to create art masterpieces.
I love giving them the opportunity to add art to their projects but without paint, it's impossible.
My students loved creating Aztec clay masks from paper plates during our recent culture study. Unfortunately I had to borrow paint from our kindergarten classrooms to provide the opportunity for my students to participate. There are so many other projects we would like to do - make wreaths for Christmas, paint self-portraits, illustrate our published books, create Mother's/Father's day cards and gifts - that without your help to get paint, my students won't be able to do. Having both the liquid paint for large projects and the tempera cakes for small projects, will solve our painting dilemma.
