As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are creative, clever, and very spontaneous.
I teach an amazing class of 31 kids in Jamaica, Queens. Many of my students are English Language Learners. Most receive free and reduced price lunch. All of my students are creative, thoughtful, and eager learners.
My Project
My students are learning in a digital world. Classrooms are trying their best to keep up with technology, but that is no easy task.
I want to provide students with opportunities to use technology to advance their learning experiences here in my classroom.
With these 5 requested Kindle Fires in my classroom, my students will be able to have access to high quality online mathematics instruction in addition to their daily mathematics lesson. Teaching in an ICT classroom with 13 English Language Learners means my students come learn in a variety of ways. Providing my students with technology will help to support the diversity of learners in my classroom. Students will be able to participate in math games and other meaningful learning experiences through this technology.
Although each student will not have their own Kindle, students work in stations each day and will have the opportunity to work in the station with the technology. These Kindle Fires will make learning meaningful and relevant. Thank you for your support.
