My students need foam! They are high school students with an interest in becoming firefighters. In order to certify they learn to use foam appropriately.

My Students

Do you have your dream job? My students are working hard to realize their dreams. Most want to be in a challenging and rewarding career. We teach a fire science class to high school students to help them achieve their dreams of becoming a firefighter, Paramedic, or Hazmat Tech.

My students come from all the surrounding school districts to attend the Fire Science Tech class.

I want to tell a story about a student who came through the fire science and EMT class. About half way through the school year he came to me and told me that his dad last year was complaining that he was skipping classes and close to dropping out of school. In the fire science class his grades came up in all of his classes and he found the desire to succeed. This is not an isolated case; I see it every single year without exception. When student find something they love they excel everywhere.

My Project

Supplies are hard to come by in our class. We are very specialized and receive help from many of the surrounding fire departments. However the equipment and supplies needed in order to help the students certify is not always available to us at the school and the training is difficult without the proper tools. Drills must be simulated or not done if access to the items like foam is not available.

These students grow and learn that it is possible to achieve their dreams and learn about not only firefighting but life skills.

As you help them you will never know the lives you have saved.
