This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I have the privilege of working with fill the room with joy through their jokes and laughter. They are creative and critical thinkers that teach me as much as I teach them. When faced with challenges, they continue to show up and learn every day. As we start back at school after a year and a half apart, these students deserve the best education possible with the best resources.
My Project
Kindle Fire Tablets for our fourth grade scholars will ensure that our students have consistent access to technology in the classroom. Currently, it has been challenging to do our intervention programs and other technology based activities. With tablets, our students will be able to complete their intervention program which allows them to build skills at the level they are ready to learn at.
In addition, tablets will allow us to use technology in the classroom in other ways.
One example is through use of academic games, like Gimkit, that engage students in interactive learning by reviewing and reinforcing content. There are also other programs that build essential skills that will not only help them in the classroom, but as future leaders in our technology based world.
