I have some of the sweetest students who walk into my classroom each morning with a big smile ready to learn! Regardless of what their home life is, they come in so excited to be at school! They are curious, intelligent, hardworking, and praise seeking blank slates! They love coming to school and I love teaching them.
Our school is one of the sweetest little schools and Mrs. K's first grade class is the best class around.
We do not have much money to provide the things we would like to for our kids but we carry on and provide them with the best learning experience possible. We are a "B" school but actively working to bring that up to an "A" and give our kids nothing but the best!
The community around this school is amazing. We all work together to make this the best environment for these children in hopes to help them be successful one day! I have students living with relatives instead of parents and many more that have less than ideal situations at home. I hope to light up their little worlds and learning experience with these tablets!
My Project
Having a set of Fire Tablets for my room will allow for engaging and differentiated instruction. My students who have difficulty reading will be able to listen to stories, play phonics games, and practice spelling through games. Students struggling in math will be able to play games to increase knowledge, skill sets, and confidence.
Every child deserves the chance at learning the most they can and these tablets will help with that goal!
We will use these tablets as a listening center. We will use apps to help lower students who need phonics help as well as high students who need to read a higher level text and can pull it up on the screen. These tablets will also be used with learners who are struggling with learning through paper and pencil but excel when technology is involved. My autistic children will be able to use these tablets to communicate and as a positive behavior incentive. These tablets will also be used as a Math intervention for my students struggling in Math.
These tablets will engage my students in the learning process and allow them to explore deeper than the old books and worksheets that we currently use.
