My Students

I teach a diverse group of 26 students in a small, rural community. We have 14 girls and 12 boys from all walks of life in our room. My students are some of the sweetest, smartest children I have ever met.

My 4th grade students need to be actively engaged for all content areas.

They don't enjoy traditional copying information down, and who can blame them. They prefer game-like activities that keep them engaged in their learning. That is why they love working with our online reading program.

My Project

Technology makes learning engaging and fun. My students need Kindle tablets to use with our online reading program, Imagine Learning. This program monitors students' grammar skills, phonic skills, reading comprehension, and fluency skills. It will allow me to see what areas they need interventions with so I can provide differentiated instruction. This will allow my students to advance dramatically.

Imagine Learning is going to help my students show growth in ELA!

The program allows students to read passages for me to check for their fluency. It also provides activities and games to enhance their other ELA skills. These tablets will also allow students to become actively engaged with the program to make learning fun.
