This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

“You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book” (Dr. Seuss).

My students are tiny little readers, and they love sharing new books with anyone who has ears.

For many of my students, English is not their first language. Others are being raised by single hardworking parents or grandparents, and many have never traveled outside of the city. Reading books opens up their imaginations and is a wondrous escape from the four walls of our classroom. They create images in their mind about things they've never seen or experienced.

My Project

My students attend a title one school. We have little access to great technology. Right now, we have one computer that we use in the classroom. It is very difficult to get hands-on experience.

We are in need of new, exciting technology.

My students need four fire tablets so we can access read-aloud books and we can play fun math games to practice our skills. There are so many educational apps that we can download and use during station time. These tablets allow my students to get a break from the paper and pencil routine and see learning in a new light.
