Mrs. Langston from Raleigh NC is requesting art supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students art supplies to encourage and foster their creativity and continued love of art.

What do I love about my students you ask? Simple. What I love about my students is the fact that even on my worst of days, my students can cheer me up instantly. That's a superpower of theirs, even if they don't know it yet. Society says that I'm supposed to inspire my students, but the reality is, my students inspire me. They inspire me to be a better teacher. To try things that I've never tried before (all I'm going to say is Fortnite, I understand why kids like it so much). To laugh at a mistake and to even give students a second chance when they have broken a classroom rule. I've learned that if you show your students even the slightest amount of love, they will replicate it 100 times more. So why hold back any fraction of love?
My students are AMAZING even without trying to be!
When you look forward to going to work, you've made the right career choice for yourself. I love what I do because I love the kids that I teach. Who wouldn't love smiling, laughing, teaching, and encouraging AMAZING kids every day!?
This project is Part TWO to my previous project to obtain art supplies for an afterschool club I began this past school year called Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies. Initially, this club came about as a way to 'bridge the gap' that students were experiencing in distance learning socially and emotionally. This club served as an outlet for kids to talk, paint, and learn from each other. They were able to meet future/current classmates and express themselves through art. We met virtually every 2 weeks and simply painted. I went through art lessons/techniques and some students led meetings themselves with art skills and techniques they used. This club was so successful that it eventually grew to the point where we had more kids than supplies (even with the DonorsChoose grant I submitted for this club).
I didn't want the lack of supplies to be a barrier for ANY student.
In my effort to support equity, I created this project to get the basic art supplies to students that do not have access to art supplies in their home. The art kits I requested will go to the students that don't have ANY art supplies available to them. The canvases will be divided amongst all of the students so that they will be able to create their own paintings as well as work on the paintings that we will do together. Everything from the acrylic paint, pens, sponges, and tape will be given to students to use as we try different art projects and techniques. The wooden disc, tape, Mandala dots, mod podge, gloss, scale, even pyramid stands are all items that will be used in creating different art projects we will work on in this club this upcoming school year!
