My Students
My middle school students range from beginners to advanced coders. They come from diverse backgrounds including lower-income families, English Learners, and children of the tech industry.
The one unifying attribute is a passion for technology and computer science!
They are mix of 7th and 8th graders, some of whom are taking the class for the second year in a row.
My school is part of a public school district but sits on Air Force property. The mix of kids from town and those from around the country (and the world!) means a cornucopia of ideas and creativity.
My Project
With all of the supplies we have received, we need to store them in an organized fashion. We decided that the Plano storage boxes would work perfectly, since they have adjustable bins. The USB batteries will be used to power the onboard computers, whether arduino or Raspberry Pi, and are easy to store and charge. We will use the balance of the gifts received from the last fundraiser, as well as a generous donation from Google. The students are really excited to start building their robots and will have competitions next semester to see whose coding is superior - and whose designs pass the test!
