This first period of teaching has been a thrill. I have met my fifth grade students and let me tell you, they are amazing. Fifth graders are such a fun age group. They understand sarcasm, they can have deep intellectual conversations, they can learn in-depth concepts and think on a higher level. That isn't to say they aren't energetic, creative, fun-loving, and excited to learn!
When I am around fifth graders, my heart is full of joy and laughter; they keep me excited and on my toes at all times.
I am so excited to be teaching these students, and future students to come, so that I can help them learn to their fullest abilities and help them grow beyond their own limits.
My Project
This project is to replenish basic classroom supplies for spring. As you are aware, cold and flu season is upon us, which is why we are requesting tissues and wet wipes. We also need a restock of basic classroom supplies. We need Expo markers, pencils, Sharpies, etc. The supplies like pencils are used in basically all school activities such as writing, math, science, etc. Sharpies will be used on a daily basis as well, for writing and science. My students use Sharpies to label their science projects and use when drawing. Expo markers are needed desperately for math. We use whiteboards and Expo markers every single day to work on math problems and on our homework. These are just some of the reasons basic supply replenishment is needed.
