My Students
Our school is made up of primarily Native American and Hispanic students. Our economic backgrounds support an almost 100% free lunch program with high needs.
We have a very large resource percentage within the school and a solid EL population.
We are just as diverse in our academics. We have an on site garden that the students maintain with the support of our Bus Driver Mr. Dan.
Recently I attended a STEAM Conference and have incorporated that learning into the classroom. For the first time we have 3 students in my class headed to the local Spelling Bee in March. These kids are amazing and hungry to learn!! I just need some tools in the classroom to support their diverse learning styles.
My Project
My classroom uses Kindle's everyday to reinforce lessons with amazing programs like iXL, Learn Spanish, Newsela, JupiterEd, Moby Max, and many more.
We just started weekly Spanish lesson on them too!!
30% of our school population is Hispanic and this is a great way to support that primary language and introduce a second language to all of our students!!
We also use them to do research on many of our classroom projects.
We have been using our Kindle's every day, but would love to get a complete class set for 25 completed. Please help us reach that goal so each student has access.
