My project needs furniture and carpeting to finish and complete the classroom library I am looking for.

I teach 3rd grade for inner city Chicago Public Schools. I am on the west side of the city where 99.5% of my students are on the free or reduced lunch program. They don't have much and are very needy. I am asking for this classroom library because the children are failing the state test. Our school has adopted a New York program titled, America's Choice. With this program, we have to have both a library with genres and leveled books. We have to test the students DRA(grade level reading) level. In order to accomplish all of this, I need the organizational tool with the containers to put my leveled books in. The students can then go and check out the books according to their correct level. But I am also asking for a carpet and some chairs for the children to comfortably sit in while independently reading. As I have said, the solution would be the organizational tool with the containers so that the children know where to find the leveled books and can go get the book they need. When all of the books are put together, students pick books they cannot read. With the resources I receive from Donors Choose I will be able to help my students read books on their level. They will also have a comfortable place to call their own and have someplace to sit. The carpet is our "meeting place" that we must have for America's Choice. I, of course, want this proposal so that my students don't just come in the classroom and pick any old book, I would love for them to know which level to pick and be able to read the book they choose. They will build self-confidence by doing this and hopefully raise their test scores as they read what they choose.
