My students are an amazing group of 4 year olds! Their smiles inspire me to be a better teacher every day. However they come with their own personal baggage, even at their young age.
All of our students are at risk for different reasons.
They come from families with limited language and all qualify for free breakfast and lunch based on their families low income status. Some of my students come from refugee families escaping the hardship of war. Despite these factors, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They are bright and are eager to come to school in order to experience things they normally would not be exposed to at home.
My Project
The materials I am requesting are great for building up children's fine motor skills. The peg boards will help the children with positioning and balancing with their tiny fingers. The magnet letters and the magna doodles will help my little learners further develop their writing skills, alphabetic knowledge and fine motor skills all together!
Fine motor skills are essential for performing everyday skills as well as academic skills.
These manipulatives will be used in my classroom to help my fabulous friends build up their finger muscle strength! In doing so they can accomplish independent skills, such as feeding and dressing themselves, as well as work on their writing.
