Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach twenty 4-year-old preschool students, with and without special needs, within the inner city setting. They come to school every day with their eager little smiles and bright minds ready to learn. My children love exploring and learning every day and I give them as many opportunities to use all the materials that I have available.
Varied learning styles make it necessary to present the lessons with a variety of mediums.
Every child is developing at their own pace and I need to be able to provide a variety of tools that can be used to encourage muscle development.
When students achieve the knowledge that they are striving for, it is reflected in their excitement of learning.
My Project
Many of my children come to my room with low muscle tone due to minimal experiences. They have difficulty manipulating clothing and writing tools.
With these materials the students will have daily opportunities to experience fun ways to improve the smaller muscles necessary to be successful at writing and other small motor activities.
The attainment of fine motor skills is one of the most important areas of development for a young child. With these materials, I will be able to provide all of my students with those rich experiences that will help to assure that they will all be ready for future challenges.
