This is my second year teaching Kindergarten, and I welcomed 10 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder into my class this school year. These students have varying abilities and need differentiated resources to reach their goals. For some of my students, this year is the first introduction into the structured school setting, where they are learning new academic skills, as well as necessary life skills. They would really benefit from having engaging resources to help them reach their goals by making the learning process more enjoyable and fun.
My Project
As an educator, I strive to meet my students' needs by providing appropriate toys to enhance the development of skills while also creating an enjoyable, fun experience for my students. Children will develop their fine motor skills as they grow, but it also takes the right kind of practice.
Fine motor skills are used in everyday routines such as eating, buttoning shirts and pants, writing, cutting, turning pages, holding small items, and so many other routines.
Play-based learning helps keep students engaged and can be very effective in education during early development.
