My students need a variety of art supplies, like watercolor sets, opaque water color palettes, and quality brushes to allow them to express their creativity.
Third graders are an exuberant bunch of young learners. They like to move, they love to create and use their imaginations. Many of them are being raised in single parent households and qualify for free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I am passionate about nurturing their self-confidence, creativity, imagination, and a love of learning.
Having a variety of quality art materials is crucial in developing the creativity in these young artists.
It is my challenge and privilege to take all of their different personalities and create a vibrant classroom community full of academic challenge, creativity, personal responsibility, and empathy for each other. The arts is the perfect vehicle to grow these qualities.
My Project
These days with all the emphasis on test scores, it's important to give students a creative outlet. All students are creative and thrive when given high quality materials to use. Students will get brilliant results with the Crayola watercolors on good quality watercolor and mixed media papers. Creating beauty will inspire them, instill a sense of pride, and foster their respect for the materials. They'll be able to see the difference between the Crayola watercolors transparency and the opacity of the Richeson sets of opaque watercolors. They'll learn to choose the correct tools for the effect they'd like to achieve.
Not only will students become more creative, painting and drawing help students become resilient, gain analytical skills, learn from mistakes, and make better critical judgments.
