My students need a class set of Gregor the Overlander, an adventure story where Gregor and his sister fall through an opening in their apartment laundry room wall and discover a land under the Earth.
Our school is now well into its second year, and we are still building our classroom libraries. My fourth graders love reading and I am in a constant search acquiring books that are fun to read and strengthen reading skills.
Reading whole-class texts generates such excitement in my class!
With diversity and varied family backgrounds, teachers and students are looking for things to unite us and books that are an interest of all of us are wonderful vehicles for change.
My Project
This year, my gifted class of fourth graders has shown lots of potential in reading. As many classes do these days, we have a diverse group of wonderful young people who have now bonded as a team. We have already read three class sets of other books.
Gregor the Overlander will bring us even closer as we share an adventure together.
This class set of books will allow us to focus on one story as we read along together. I read this book last week and fell in love with it as Gregor and his sister fly on giant bats and discover a new land under the Earth.
