My students need 130 copies of "7 habits of highly effective teens" to develop social-emotional skills such as self-control, perseverance, and a positive outlook on life. This is key to the success of low income students.

My Students
I see a variation of myself in my students. I see parts of me in the students that are quite introverted as well as the outspoken ones. They teach me new things everyday.
When I see my students I see all the possibilities and futures they can pave.
They are eager to learn and seek a challenge. There are also days where my role changes and I am not only a teacher but a nurse or a mom and other times a counselor.
My Project
I am requesting an inexpensive book "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" for my students to read, analyze, and discuss in their Silent and Sustained reading class. The goal is that through reading this book students will develop the leader in our students.
We want to empower our students, foster optimism, and reinforce student development by offering a supportive school culture.
The goal is for our students to self-advocate, believe they belong, create a positive school culture, and believe they can succeed beyond our school walls in their homes, community and education. The ultimate goal is to build our students growth mindset and go to college.
