Our school media center creates a gateway to explore the world. We want to continue to provide materials for encouraging and enlightening learning experiences.
45% of our students are on free or reduced lunch, and all of our students come from Title 1 elementary schools.
Many of our students come to school craving new knowledge and positive interactions.
Located in a large school district with rural and suburban students, we enroll over 500 middle school students each year. With dedicated teachers and students, our school continues to provide a safe learning environment where students exhibit high growth. Our goal is to prepare students for a world in which their possibilities for success are endless.
My Project
This project requests globes and maps to distribute to each social studies classroom and the library for daily geography reinforcement. The materials we have requested include global geography topics. We need human and physical geography resources to gain full perspective of how the world works. Some resources show us political boundaries and others show us why those were drawn.
These materials will directly benefit our students understanding of the world and help prepare interested students for participation in the National Geographic Geography Bee.
This will be the first year we will compete. The games, maps, and books will be used during study sessions during the school day and after school club time for preparation.
