This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the opportunity to teach 40 high energy students this year. However, many of our students don't have the opportunity to use and/or become versed in the ever changing ways of technology.
The 40 students I teach are great!
They have a hunger for learning and want to try new things. I have found that many of them don't have the opportunity to work with the different types of technology that others may have. Many of my students come from homes where their parents are as supportive as they can be however they do not have the ability to get some of the newer technology into their child's hands.
My Project
These Amazon Kindles will be used both during school and in an after-school reading club. The goal of using these e-Readers is to encourage the students to read different types of literature. This way they are able to see many different books and genres. Using these after-school we will have small group book clubs that will read different stories to help increase their reading comprehension.
I feel that in order to help our students stay current with the ever changing uses of technology we have to begin infusing our lessons in the classroom with that technology.
By putting these Kindles to use my students will have a chance to work with this type of technology and see how their world can be opened to many new books.
