Help me give my students an alternative to phonics. Edmark is carefully sequenced, highly repetitive word recognition method combined with error-less learning. This approach eliminates incorrect responses and helps students view themselves as readers.
I have the most amazing students in an Elementary Communication classroom. They are faced with several challenges both in & out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they come to school happy & ready to learn. I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Our school building has students that range from Pre-School through 4th grade.
My students have varying learning levels, learning styles, and motivational factors.
The Edmark Reading Curriculum requested will offer an alternative for all of the students including non-verbal students. Edmark reading materials will give us the opportunities to learn with pictures and books that they can really touch and use each day. Reading activities allow children to refine their thresholds for different information, helping their brain to create stronger connections to information and learning. This will all be used in a creative and positive way, which allows me, the teacher, to inspire and build reading and phonic development and confidence in each child that enters my classroom year after year!

The Edmark Reading Program will help my students who need an alternative to phonics and it will motivate students by breaking learning into steps that ensure development of self-confidence in their ability to read.
Decoding, chopping and blending can be difficult skills for students with autism.
The curriculum is research based and uses ABA techniques to help students succeed. Students who are non-verbal have a sign-language option included in Edmark (it comes with a DVD of signs for each lesson!) or you can use a student’s AAC device to support them. From vocabulary accusation to fluency, Edmark has you covered!
I am excited and hopefully with the help of awesome donors we can soon use the Edmark Curriculum to bring success to our students!
