Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students that I teach are hardworking, compassionate, and eager to please. I teach special education for students from kindergarten to fifth grade with various disabilities ranging from Autism, Cerebral Palsy to Intellectual Disabilities in a Title I school.

My students are a very busy bunch who are constantly learning.

Even though my students are taking steps to overcome their many challenges, I am always trying to find new and creative ways to help them along. They learn best with fun hands-on materials.

My Project

These materials will be used to help my students manage their behaviors. My students are busy and work best when tasks are broken up with sensory breaks. As their teacher, I am excited to expand my sensory materials to give them something new and interesting to use. They are learning how to manage their feelings and the requested materials will help them find an appropriate outlet for their energy.

With your donation, I would be able to receive sensory materials for my classroom that would benefit the diverse needs of my classroom.

I am requesting things like sensory tubs, Theraputty, and sequencing cards. This would be a great way for my kids to focus their energy!
