My Students
This is my second year teaching a classroom teaching third grade students. I have been teaching for four years and absolutely love watching students learn and grow. This year I am teaching in an urban school with a large population of English Language Learners. My students will come from many different backgrounds and it is important that I meet the needs of all of my students. My goal is to provide these students with the best education possible with a safe and comfortable learning environment.
My Project
In third grade reading is crucial. The students are tested by the state on their reading and understanding of what they read. In third grade students start to get into more chapter books and higher level texts. These books would provide the chance for the students to read daily in the classroom and develop their reading further. These are books that the students have requested based on their interests. These high interest texts will help these students develop a love of reading in their day to day life. Books can takes students to many different places in their minds and allow them a chance to use their imagination. My students also love the flexible seating options in my classroom, but some of our materials are becoming worn and need updated. These updated items would allow the students to find a comfortable place to read their favorite books.
