This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a diverse background. In some cases, they have lost parents. In other cases, siblings watch them because both parents are working all hours of the day to buy them basic items.

My classroom is filled with the essentials, but my students deserve the world.

We have 25 learners in our classroom with almost as many learning styles. We work hard every day and are trying to make our classroom better fit our needs & accelerate our learning.

My Project

The flexible seating I have selected is the beginning of building my classroom to be the most effective learning environment possible. Many of my students struggle to stay focused, and having the ability to move without disrupting others will help them to thrive and show me all they are capable of. Our classroom is set up for cooperative learning with tables and chairs. While the furniture is new, the seating leaves little options for third graders who need movement and comfort to stay focused. The wobble chairs and exercise balls will offer my students opportunities to be active when needed, comfortable, and engaged in their learning.
