My Students

My students are hardworking but sometimes struggle with math concepts, especially abstract math concepts. As a teacher, I try and use as many hands-on activities to make abstract concepts as concrete as I can. I also use games and interactive activities to help make math fun and hopefully spark an interest.

My math classroom has many goals in addition to academics; we try and develop work ethic, grit, and positive social skills.

Hands-on learning and cooperative learning allow for them to develop these important people skills.

My Project

In my classroom, we are constantly using hands-on tools to help math come alive. Using this "Hands-On Equation" kit, I can help my students visualize abstract algebraic concepts. In addition, the tools in this kit will allow my students to stay focused and interested, even while exploring advanced concepts.

This kit will feed my students' inquisitive nature.

They love problem solving when the problem is hands-on. My goal with this kit is to leverage that motivation and keep math fun and interesting! Math may not come easy to my kids, but with the right tools, we can make our students want to stretch their brains!
