Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have many strengths that I see shine through everyday. They are curious, hardworking, and have a wealth of background knowledge. Every morning I get excited about all of the teachable moments that will pop up throughout the day.
As my first class, they will always have a special place in my heart.
I love seeing them understand something new after persevering through a productive struggle. Their potential is limitless; their desire to participate coupled with the effort they put in will take them very far after 5th grade.
My Project
Many students grow up uncomfortable with the idea of speaking in front of others. I believe that a large part of empowering students to make a difference in their lives and the world is helping them find their voice. With the Qball, I can picture my class having a debate, discussing a book, or exploring a science topic where everyone's voice is heard and valued.
These materials will help boost engagement and make learning more impactful in my classroom.
All kids learn in different ways, however most kids love learning when it's fun for them. Incorporating educational games and a healthy level of competition by using the buzzers will help motivate my students to learn, foster positive relationships, and build teamwork skills.
I plan to use both of these materials in creative ways for my students across the disciplines for many years to come.
