Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a class of twenty-four, amazing, first-grade students in a diverse, Title I community, located in the inner-city. It is in one of the largest cities in the country where all students receive free breakfast and lunch.
I have the privilege of educating my inquisitive, energetic and intellectually curious class of first graders.
They love to learn and love to show others what they've learned.
To help them overcome the challenges they may face at home, I am eager to provide them with creative and meaningful learning experiences, where everyone is heard and everyone is made to feel empowered and important.
My Project
Upon return from our COVID-19 school closure, I would love to welcome my little ones with organizational tools. These are items they use and access on a daily basis that make our classroom function in a much more organized manner. The materials listed are to help organize all of our financial literacy materials and book bins we already have.
The organizational carts will hold all book bins containing all of our financial literacy resources and other materials that don't yet have a home!
Being organized allows for more instructional time, a time for students to quickly find their financial literacy materials and get to work. They will now be able to go to the selected cart and be able to quickly find the labeled book bin containing their math and literacy tools to practice financial literacy.
